Porphyry Basin Sunrise
About the Photo: The Wildflower season in Colorado is enjoyable because it starts in May in the Lower Blue Valley of Summit County and extends into August at the higher elevations. This long season gives me the opportunity to photograph many areas of the state throughout the the summer. This image was taken at Porphyry Basin Silverton, Colorado in August of last year. While hiking in the Basin I found a good composition for a sunrise shot with flowers, water and a mountain. The next morning it all came together with little or no wind, and good light to provide this Alpenglow during the "magic hour".
About the Artist, Bob Karcz: I consider myself a photo enthusiast who has lived in Summit County for the past 11 years. What a Great location we live in to photograph Colorado and the surrounding states. My work has been featured in several Colorado publications.
